Workshop setting
The Workshop program unfolds in 9 days (11 days with an extension to Machu Picchu) of journeys with Ayahuasca and San Pedro and excursions to Andean sites in Sacred Valley, Cusco and Machu Picchu sanctuary with and extension journey included.
There are three (3) Ayahuasca ceremonies and a Despacho offering ceremony during the first 9 days of the workshop. Ayahuasca ceremonies are guided in a traditional way, respecting Ayahuasca lineage practices, as well as applying the methods of contemporary Ayahuasca traditions. The Workshop joins together various practices and integration methods (mindfulness and insight meditation, contemplation, Yoga, breathing practices, discussion and sharing circles), and sight-seeing excursions. There’s also plenty of free time periods that can be used for resting, walking and reflection.
Workshop extension to Machu Picchu
A 3-day extension journey to Machu Picchu is available as the conclusion of the main Workshop. This short program offers a visit to the well-known Inca’s sanctuary at the sacred Machu Picchu mountain, to the local termal springs and some other places and one (1) ritual ceremony of San Pedro with local Andean shaman-healer.
Accommodation and facilities
Basic part of the Workshop is held in the rural area of Pisaq village in the Sacred Valley of Incas (2950 m. / 9680 ft.), 35km from Cusco. Cusco city (3300 m. / 10820 ft.) is easily accessible by 1h 10min flight or about 17-hour bus trip from Lima. Cusco is the main city of the Andean region of the same name; it’s the last Andean region on the East of Peru, neighboring with the Amazon district of Madre de Dios. Cusco city with its surrounding valleys is the most visited region in Peru, representing the heritage if Inca civilization.
Workshop accommodation in the Sacred Valley is is offered by Melissa-Wasi, recently built house following the traditional canons of Andean mud-and-eucalyptus architecture, providing all the facilities for a comfortable and unforgettable stay, surrounded by crop fields and Apus (sacred mountains). Some of the meals are done in the guest house; all of the Ayahuasca ceremonies and most of the activities are done near the guest house in a building called maloca (“temple”).
Additionally the house offers the services of laundry, phone calls and internet access.
For the last several years Melissa-Wasi happened to become a well known place in Pisaq, where visitors stop either to simply enjoy the magic of the Andes or, thanks to its connection with Ayahuasca-Wasi, to pursue for an inner journeys with sacred plants, like Ayahuasca or San Pedro.
